Ash Wednesday. Just saying those words sends a questioning shiver down the back of comfortable evangelical protestants…of which I am one. However, this one day is as central to the Christian faith as Easter or Christmas. Simply put, Ash Wednesday is a corporate countdown to the most important event in history…the crucifixion of Jesus. His life and equally so, His death, marks in time when God came to the earth and died for the sins of humanity.
We will sing, confess/repent of our sins, and receive the mark of the cross as our sign of his past death and our present life. We will then take communion as a celebration knowing Jesus conquered death and is coming back for us again!
We will meet in the main worship area during lunch, 12:00-12:45. Please carve out this time so that we might surrender once again to the grace of God!
See you tomorrow!
